Nike Metcon 10 vs. Reebok Nano X5
Not that
Reebok Nano X5 (men's)
Reebok
$111.95
If there's a barbell in most of your classes, buy the Metcon 10. It's lower, lighter and steadier under load. The Nano is the cheaper, more run-friendly shoe, not the steadier one.
Prices checked October 26, 2026. Nike Metcon 10 (men's) in stock at Nike as of October 26, 2026 (men's 3.5 to 15 listed; check your size at checkout).
Why the coach picked it
- Closer to the floor: 22.8 mm heel stack vs. 27.0 mm in RunRepeat's lab. Less foam under your heel means less wobble in a heavy squat or clean.
- Lighter: 312 g vs. 340 g on RunRepeat's scale.
- Built for what wrecks shoes in class: a Hyperlift plate under the heel, and a hard plastic heel clip that Nike says is there for handstand push-ups.
- That Fit Friend's head-to-head gives the Metcon the edge in gyms with heavy barbell and explosive work.
When the other one is the right call
If your training leans toward runs and mixed circuits, get the Nano X5. That Fit Friend rates it the better runner for distances up to about two miles, Reebok built its Metasplit outsole for runnability, and right now it's about $43 cheaper.
